On tap at the brewery release and served in their signature snifter.
Look- A dark orange-tinged murky brown with a bit of off white foam on the surface.
Smell- Mild pie spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, followed by some barrel char and whiskey in the back.
Taste- It begins with pie spices of cinnamon and some nutmeg. The barrel flavor follows with mild char and whiskey. There's a little heat going down, but generally pretty easy drinking for a barrel aged beer.
Feel- Thin, a little oily, with some bite from the spice and alcohol.
Overall- A really tasty barrel aged pumpkin beer. A pleasant blend between barrel and spice that could have been messy if overdone. I never had the regular and was taken aback by the low score. I really enjoyed this and will have to buy a couple regular Unicorns to compare.
