This has the crisp, clean traditional lager flavor profile that you've grown to adore but we've kicked it up a notch with a hop bill of Mt. Hood & Sterling to add subtle herbaceous notes.

Taster at Akasha. Clear golden to small cap of white head. I have a hard time thinking of this as a Vienna. Light malty, grainy aroma. Taste brings cucumber, heavily. I think something's wrong here. I gave this another shot, because I felt it may have gotten mispoured the first time around. But I'm still getting cucumber. No change

As a Vienna lager this has a slightly too fruity or sickly sweet flavor. Maybe that is "herbaceous" as they say, but not welcome. I am a fan and armchair connoisseur of this style and I have had better experiences. The beer is passably good, but each sip leaves a harsh metallic sweetness and funk that just isn't exactly right. You can't savor it, but you can deal with it and partially enjoy it. A rare miss from Greenbush.

$3.99 for a 6 pack on clearance. 12oz can. 4.5% ABV, 16 IBU.

Pours out to a clear medium golden, forming a modest white head with good retention and lacing Moderate carbonation, ~2.5 carbs or so. Nose of subtle sulfur, subtle corn, minimal hop presence. Mouthfeel is clean, medium-light bodied, smooth somewhat watery feel( in a good way, appropriate to a light lager), and easy drinking. Taste is nice, well balanced between malt, a little grain character, some well balanced bitterness, slightly grassy with a hint of sulfur. I'm not sure I would call it a Vienna Lager, but Overall, a pretty nice easy drinking lager.

12 ounce bottle into a pilsner glass. Bottled 10/8/18, had 5/14/19. Should have had this sooner.

Pours a sparkling clear, bright pale yellow, with a two and a half inch head of spongy foam with good retention and lots of foamy lacing. Very active carbonation. Aromas of earthy/herbal hops, yeast, light malt, a hint of caramel, a little black pepper in the head when warm. Flavors of malt, earthy/herbal hops, yeast, a little biscuit, a light hop bitterness on the finish. Crisp, smooth, a good lighter body, well carbonated.

Not a style I have often, but this is pretty good. Well hopped, a nice balance between the malt and yeast. Very enjoyable and worth a purchase.

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 7/25/2019. Pours lightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, nuttiness, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit of fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, nuttiness, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Great robustness and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a delicious Vienna lager. All around nice robustness and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp/clean to drink the the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel, very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great clean pils/Vienna malt showcase; with nice Mt. Hood/Sterling hop balance for the style. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressively well made style example. A bit paler than expected, but still had great malt character.
