On-tap at Greenbush. Served in a 6oz taster glass.
A - Murky brown, with a hint of transparency at the fringes. Thick collar of tan foam, but no lace. Not very attractive stuff here.
S - Smells like Chrsitmas. Spruce, nutmeg, cinnamon, pie crust. I'm not generally a big fan of this style of beer, but this manages to avoid the heavy-handed approach of other Christmas spice ales.
T - The taste is unfortunately nowhere near as compelling. Mostly toffee and caramel apple sweetness, with a slightly strange tart finish. Lacks the depth and complexity of the aroma.
M - Medium-full body, creamy and chewy, moderate carbonation, and a sticky finish. No alcohol presence.
D - The aroma was promising, but I really don't need more of this in my life. If it tasted anywhere close to how it smelled it'd be a contender for best Christmas spice beer, which is kind of like being the fastest man in Sawyer, MI.
