12 ounce bottle into a Weizen glass. Bottled 11/10/14, had late January, 2016.
Have had this before, first written review. Pours a medium amber color, a little hazy, with a one finger head and some foamy lacing. Good amount of agitation, streaming bubbles for quite a while. The smell brings malt, caramel, figs, molasses, some yeast, a little chocolate, hint of smoke. The taste is more malt forward; also caramel, bread, raisins, some fig, a little molasses and chocolate. A light bitterness on the finish. Smooth, creamy, the taste lingers.
Might have pushed this a couple of months too long, but it is definitely better with some age on it, than it is fresh. Maybe not at the top of the list for the style, but a solid beer that is true to the style and enjoyable to drink. Good flavor and feel. Just hold off for a while....

Beer #8 from the Advent Calendar. Bottled 11.10.14 and enjoyed from a teku.
Mammoth pours a very dark ruby brown with a substantial white head. The nose is full of ripe bananas; cloves, orange peel, and similar spices; rich, sweet malts; and wheat. Smells a lot like a Hefeweizen, but sweeter and with an almost Belgian kind of funk to it. Taste follows the nose closely, with a sweet and pronounced alcohol punch. Again, much like a sweeter version of a Hefeweizen. Mouthfeel is a bit heavier than medium-bodied; it's slightly viscous, kind of spicy, and dry.
I enjoyed Mammoth quite a bit. It's a solid beer, especially on a chilly day, but I don't see myself coming back to this beer or this style. Maybe a bit too sweet and boozy for my taste. Caveat: this is the first Weizenbock I've had.
