12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 10/12/16, had 12/13/16.
Pours dark, near black and opaque, with a one inch foamy head and a fair amount of foamy lacing. Smells of rye, medium roast malts, chocolate, some vanilla, some coffee, caramel. A little smoke. Really nice aroma. The taste leads with lighter roasted malts than the nose, chocolate, rye, vanilla, some caramel and coffee, a little molasses. A light bitterness throughout. Smooth, somewhat creamy, well carbonated, good body for the style.
Great regular stout. The rye is the star, very prominent. Great aroma, lots of flavor, a well crafted beer. Well worth a purchase.

Superior mouthfeel. Excellent toasted chocolate flavor. Bitter finish ends up softly on the palate. Outstanding

Either you like rye or you don't. That will determine your rating for this.
