Bottled 12/5/14; drank 1/10/15 @ the Yarchives.
Murky orange hue.
Big off-white head; tree-rung lace.
Apricot, nutmeg & fresh soap nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Apricot, nutmeg & wheat flavors; a cinnamon bite settled on the lips.
A sister beer to Bell's Venus?! A unique & bold take on the style; well above average.

Pours copper. Foamy, medium, Whitehead that Fades fast to a lasting ring.
Smells spice, Apple, doughy malt, light yeast and wheat.
Taste Orange Peel, spices, clove, apple, pear and light yeast Funk. Finish id semi-dry with an orange peel linger. Lighter medium body and lately fizzy medium carbonation.

I got this off a single shelf. It was over primed and huge fizzy head as a result. Once settled it showed a clear copper with white head and no lace. The scent had hints of all sorts of spices....much like most xmas beers. The taste was heavy on Xmas spices. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a sipping beer at best.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 11/2/16, had 12/15/16.
Pours a golden apricot, fairly cloudy, with a short head and some spotty lacing. Active carbonation. The aroma starts with spices- cloves, peppercorns, some cardamom, yeast, light malt, apples, pears. A touch of funkiness, which was kind of unexpected. Smells pretty good. The taste is pretty similar to the nose- malt, cloves, cardamom, less peppercorns, yeast. A light bitterness up front. Smooth, a solid medium body for the style, good level of carbonation.
Had this a few years back, and didn't like it. But, it's really a pretty good beer. The spices are prominent, and work well together. Very enjoyable.

Nose: cloves, warm winter spice, orange spice tea
Look: honeycomb orange with high carbonation. Slight haze.
Taste: immediate warm spice from the cloves. Gives way to somewhat unpleasant malt character (too strong a contrast?). Chai/cinnamon sugar. Creamy mouth feel, watery finish.

1/2/15 mfg date. Filtered wit beer. Unlike most Belgian wits this has a strong clove note. Decent drinking beer but an unexpected flavor.
