Looks: Lasting foam. Murky unfiltered. Yeasty. Bottle conditioned.
Smell: Smoked malt also mildly working up some hard tree fruit like apple.
Taste: Initially balanced by hops. But in the late palate, Mamam is a bit too dry to complement some foods.
Nonetheless Refreshing
The brewer calls this a smoked saison and if anyone wants to change the classification to saison, I support that.
I went on the website and we get a familiar story of home brewers going to brewing school and meeting partners and starting a micro. De Leite spends time and money on their labels.
