Golden brew with a slight haze. Long-lasting foam in the Zunft Kölsch glass. Deeply grapefruit scented. Very aromatic and a little hot and tangy on the tongue. There's something like cedar that gets deep into the nose.

Quite fruity yet light. A hit of sweetness that's exactly like the best grapefruit you ever had. Thoroughly quaffable light brew. Definitely an improvement on the usual pale wheat, but it's also as good a grapefruit flavor as I can remember in a beer. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa.

On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.

Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, citrus fruit, grapefruit zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with cracker, butter, and grapefruit juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting buttered cracker flavor along with grapefruit aspects.

Serving type: on tap.
