Consumed November 5th, 2011 at the brewery. Reviewed from notes. Billed as a collaboration with Ojai Beverage Company.
Beer is a clear medium brown, crowned with a creamy though thin off-white head.
Aroma has some spicy notes (cinnamon, nutmeg) and reminds me of warm wheat raisin bread.
Flavor is similar to nose with the addition of a sweet, honey-like note. Bubblegum and the slightest note of clove move things along to the end, which is a mildly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is creamy with a touch of dryness on the finish.
Not a good, sturdy example of the style since there's a little flavor experimentation going on, but a fine and easily drinkable beer nonetheless.
