On-cask at the Euston Tap into a half-pint.
A: Crystal-clear pale amber body with a creamy finger of fine white head. Good retention and tons of lace. Attractive.
S: Predominantly hoppy, with earthy + floral notes leading in to some dry, biscuity malt and some stone fruit - apricot in particular. A little disjointed, but more good than bad.
T: Opens with generic grainy malt, followed by light toffee and floral hops. Full, bittersweet finish. Again, not bad, but just not that enjoyable.
M: A bit more life than your average cask ale; pretty good.
O: I've been waiting for this brewery to be added to the database for a while, as this was a thoroughly decent real ale that I encountered on my recent trip to London and I think that the rest of BA deserves to be aware of this brewery's existence. While the UnHung Hero isn't the most memorable of beers, it's far better than many similar ales on the market, and is well worth serious consideration from any ale fan on the English market. Not bad at all.
Cheers!
