A decent pale ale that pours a light amber colour and smells dry, malty with faint hints of apple to it.

Taste is almost typical of an APA, but too hoppy to be a true pale ale (but not nearly hoppy enough to be an IPA). There are citrus hints and a strong hop bitterness underlying the malts and faint toffee hints in the brew.

This is by no means a terrible beer, and it makes a great compliment to a meal but I've had better pale ales.

Now brewed under contract by Howe Sound Brewing, this beer is only available at the Sailor Hagar's Beer and Wine in N. Van. The beer is dark gold with a laced head. The nose is full of hops and really sets off the beer nicely. The taste is fresh, hoppy and very full bodied. I think this is one of the best overlooked pale ale's in BC. Like the Lohin's ESB this is a well crafted beer that shows a middle ground between Britain and the PNW.
