Who says the sequel to the sequel is never as good as the original? You be the judge, Skippy. The re-return of the Knüt of the Living Dead is a lactose oatmeal stout brewed with peanut butter and cocoa nibs. Manufactured on equipment that may have been used to process undead peanuts. *Contains Peanuts*

Pours a black-ish color with a voluminous tan head. Peanut aromas literally leap from the bottle when you pop the top - when I cracked this open, my wife asked from 5 feet away, “is that peanut butter?” There’s also a significant chocolate note on the nose.

The peanut butter is decidedly prominent on the taste, but the chocolate and vanilla, appearing for the first time, are not shy. This is a flavorful oatmeal stout that would be elevated to world-class if it had a bit more body.

Now please excuse me - I have a sudden hankering for a bucket full of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Poured into a FFF Teku courtesy of FFFjunkie. A great looking beer with a mahogany hue and a thick foamy tan head that stuck around for an eternity. With my first whiff, all I smelled was a large dose of fresh peanuts. Closer inspection revealed vanilla and milk chocolate. A really enjoyable aroma. The taste departed some, with a more restrained peanut flavor, allowing the other flavors to shine. Roasted grain, chocolate, vanilla, and milk sugar were all there, and the sweetness was held in check by floral hops. Bitterness was medium, lingering on the finish. Medium bodied with a slightly sweet finish as expected. Overall an outstanding beer - the only thing I would change would be to dial up the PB flavor a bit more.

Pours a black body with a couple fingers of creamy, beige head; decent retention fades to a thick wall of consistent lacing and a fluffy collar.

Aromas of smooth peanut butter strike calmly, soon followed by deep hints of nutty milk chocolate, toasted hazelnut, and dark roast espresso; a vague dark cherry skin tone is apparent; nuttiness is vibrant without becoming cloying.

Taste brings a conjunction of cocoa nibs, milk chocolate, and roasted peanut dominating upfront, finishing with a slightly sweet roasty malt along with creamy vanilla influencing the profile throughout.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of a creamy medium body with an airy carbonation making its presence felt fleetingly; nicely drying, with a roasty char developing from the mid-palate through the finish.

Solid take on a peanut butter stout which highlights a rare (at least to me) feat of achieving an authentic peanut flavor alongside a pretty intriguing malty depth. Overall a bit light, but conversely never overwhelming the palate.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a rastal tumbler. pours a dark brown with a thin mocha head. smells of peanuts, roast and slight chocolate. taste is similar with the peanut flavor coming off as very roasty. feel is medium bodied but the addition of lactose helps it in this area. really pretty decent for a 7.5% oatmeal stout. overall, a pretty good use of peanut butter in a stout. i missed the second iteration of this but i like this more than the first.
