Hazy, orange color. Big, white head. Resin, grapefruit, and malt in the aroma. Malty starts followed by strong, hoppy bitterness. . A really good one.

Another candidate for a "NE Imperial IPA" style!!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass this beer is a hazy honey gold color with a medium sized foamy white head. Head retention is better than average and there are thick bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma is very mild, a little tropical fruit. Taste is more robust but still fairly muted, some floral hops, a good bit of tropical fruit, a little grapefruit and some NEIPA style"dankness". Mouthfeel was a bit light, but this beer was overall crisp, moderately bitter and it went down easy. I prefer a more robust Imperial IPA but this was still tasty and went well with the takeout Chinese food I had last night.

Pours a curiously modest head, below one finger, cream white, retention is so-so, lacing a broad if thin sheet. The liquid is a dark apricot yellow to brownish orange, heavy with particulate, fully opaque. The nose is heavy, boozy and cloying, apricot paste, candied orange peel, honey, cocoa, the dankness is more like forest floor matter than bright herbaceousness, almost ends on a note of charred bacon. Full-bodied, carbonation is mild and creamy, nothing capable of lifting it off the palate. The citrus expands to grapefruit and naval orange, maybe some lime. The fruit might as well be pureed together, hard to distinguish individual flavors. Scone and cocoa powder. Halfway through the can I felt palate fatigue. I have had over thirty Three Floyds beers so I know what to expect. But this one is misshapen and not up to standards. (Canned 1/23/2023)

Canned 1/25/23; drank 2/26/23 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly opaque dull orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE khaki head; strong, frothy lace.
Marmalade, table sugar & mild baking soda notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Marmalade, table sugar & baking soda flavors; booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Not my bag, baby.

Light orange with a ton of floating funk in this liquid gem. Lovely off white head sticking to the glass. Aroma is citrusy and bright. You can smell the dank goodness! Like wafting a overly ripe pineapple that’s been sitting alongside orange rinds. Flavor has all the dank hops and tropical fruits a person could want. This is gushing with tropical fruit notes of ripe mango, pineapple and juicy pear notes. This is dank and fresh, oozing with bright fruit. Nicely balanced considered the dankness. This is full bodied but smooth and thick. Perfectly balanced considering the hops that are on display. A double ipa dream in a can. Listen, I’ve been drinking FFF brews for 15 years and still to this day my favorite double ipa is a fresh dreadnaught! But it’s been a long time since a double ipa from any brewery had me drooling. This dank, sticky liquid is absolutely world class. This has some real sticky sweetness to the backbone. Typical 3F character. Idk that I’ve been this satisfied with a “new dipa” since maybe permanent funeral? Good to see one of my favorite brewery’s pumping new liquid juice like this out in 2023!!

BAM! This is my kinda beer! Should I be surprised? No, not given the brewers .... Nicely dank ... Perfectly hoppy .... Delicious and smooth and potentially dangerous on the ABV ... Excellent!

It's a pretty glass- unfiltered light haze, deep, orange-amber color, barely off-white head of dense, creamy foam, excellent cling and retention.
The aroma is disappointing for me, likely not for you. No signature 3F's malt nose, no subtle but obvious herbaceous hop scents I associate with this brewery, just sharp citrus over faint grain sweetness and... little else even as it warmed.
The flavor is..... sad. Sharp grapefruit character, tons of boiled alpha acids and mid boil sour lemon flavinoids and like no malt to back it up man!
Just sad - I mean I expect this crap from newer breweries who cater to the carbonated screwdriver crowd of "IPA" drinkers but from Three Floyds this kinda breaks my heart.
The body is a bit thin for 9% and again - no malt man! Some depth and complexity come through as it warmed up but the heavy grapefruit notes dominate the profile.
Finish is slightly better, warm, peppery hop burn and a tickle of booze.
It's a good beer don't get me wrong. It's just not what I expect from these guys but if sharp and citrusy is what they were shooting for, and I think it is, they did it it better than many others have.
Let it warm up maybe - it gets better, as most beers do.
