3 Floyds Zombie Ice Double Pale Ale pours a murky burnished yellow beneath an off white head and a fragrant hoppy nose. Sticky lacing. An expected bite is well absorbed and a straight away warming from the hefty 8.5% ABV takes hold. Variety of veggie flavors tickle the palate. Appealing in the snifter glass and a smooth taste all the way down. Mild semi dry finish. Excellent brew here.

Picked up a sixer at the Appalachian Vintner 4-17-26 for $13.49. Canned 3-20-26; consumed can #1 for review 4-22-26. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured orange with a nice white head that has some hang time.
Nose has stronger notes of floral hops with some stone fruit and citrus.
Taste is a larger malt base that is hopped by mosaic which gives me peach up front along with some orange while the back end gives me some peach pit, pine, and rind; 7/10 on my bitterness scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall, i dig this brew as it is not sweet but flavorful yet masterfully hopped for a solid dose of bitterness and flavor.

12 oz can into a pint glass. Hazy dark orange / amber color with a half-finger of off-white foam. Pine, sawdust, orange, honey/bready malt aroma. Orange citrus, faintly sweet notes, and mild piney hop bitterness that nonetheless lingers for a while. Medium-full body.

Decided to try a beer from a brewery I really like for a style I don't.
Pour is good, honey golden color, good head.
Some nice floral notes.
Not bad. Drinkable for me which is unusual for this style. The citrus is light, not to sharp and that makes it easier to drink.
Would buy again!

L = Dark orange and dusty, pulp city... 1 inch off-white fades but leaves minutely bubbled lacing. Strange in good ways.
S = This one off the IPA charts. Pine, Pine-Sol, grass, hops, earth, toasted bread, vinegar... huh?
T = Better than the smell. It's all coming together, somehow. Hops, hearty pine, deep woods, bitterness, sweeter on the aftertaste. I have no idea where this has been, is, or going to. Mystifyingly attractive.
F = No confusion here. Damn fine mouthfeel and swallow. Hits all the right buttons, sliding down the tongue.
O = A fine IPA. No idea where it came from, but it got there, anyway. Unique, unusual, unforgettable. Let's play two!

From a 12oz can dated "PKGD ON" 07/21/25 into a pint glass.
Pours a very hazy, not quite opaque dark brownish orange with about a finger and a half of white head, Very nice retention and lacing.
Smells like orange marmalade and caramel backed by some alcohol. Pretty strong.
Taste falls right in line with the nose. Maybe some honey in there too. Runs a little sweet in the mouth.
Full-bodied, heavy mouthfeel. Low to medium carbonation.
Double pale ale, huh? I was expecting this to be a cleverly named IPA but I actually think this is pretty on point for a style description. That said, it's a bit sweet for my taste. One of these hard ones to rate...not really enjoying it, but it's a pretty well constructed beer.

(review from May 2024) Tasty, well balanced 2x ipa with good mouthfeel; nice bitter/hoppy bite; a piney/citrusy/malty flavor and a very smooth fooler of an 8.5%er that drinks like much less. Very dangerously quaffable indeed!
