A collaboration with our friends at Binny's Beverage Depot, this imperial stout was aged first for a year in hand-selected bourbon barrels, then finished in 3 Floyds Bubblegumhead whiskey barrels.

Solid BA stout. Nothing here that'll knock your socks off but it delivers a creamy and tasty stout

Thanks to Luscious_Malfoy for sending this in Barleywine/Stout BIF #2
An absolutely gorgeous pour. The creamy, pillowy mocha foam is downright luscious. For style this one has more head, even more retention, than expected. But it really translates into glory in the flavor/mouthfeel. She finally settles down to a consistent 1/2 inch of flavorful fluff.
Nose brings forth a smooth roast of both barrel and coffee, baker's cocoa, fig, whiskey, and an delicate melange of deep fruit.
The mouthfeel is a solid partner with the flavor. They dance together in a way where it is challenging to discern who is leading. A velvety cocoa and whiskey embrace starts off. A slightly fluffy, almost milk stout, delivery really makes this a pleaser. Notes of dark coffee, date, fig, and barrel char keep things alive, not too sweet, and constantly alive.
Overall, solid!

Pours a thick cola/ebony with one finger of mocha colored head. Some head retention & lacing
S: Dark fruit, a little coffee& cocoa, nice fig & dark cherry notes
T: Coffee, barrel dryness, some hazelnut & woody hops up front. More barrel profile, coffee fades, vanilla & cocoa creep in along with dark fruit & woody hops once this beer is warm. Finishes a little sweet with dark fruits, especially dark cherry, cocoa & coffee, plus barrel dryness
MF: Pretty thick body, minimal carbonation, warming
A very good straight forward BA Imp Stout, hits all the notes, ABV is certainly felt

Poured stout black with a lighter brown head than I expected; and no lacing was expected. BA stouts tend not to have much in the way of carbonation and this is double barrel.
The taste is first and foremost, awesome. Dark fruit, dark chocolate, dark coffee and just enough hops presence to make an edge. The barrel flavors almost seems to counter each other, neither dominated.
The feel is viscous and well suited for the flavor and ABV.
OA, actually a very good BA stout without being unapproachable.

poured from a 12oz bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. pours a thick and shiny black with a finger of creamy mocha brown foam head. this is a lot of dark fruits on the nose with a decent amount of barrel heat, although not quite as much as i had expected but still a very good amount. taste follows with dark fruits and barrel / booze leading the way. hints of caramel, chocolate and light vanilla as it warms but this is either over-hopped or intentionally old school. it’s still very tasty but after crushing mass’s massive chocolate notes and cocomungo’s chocolate-forward base stout i am a little let down. also, kind of funny that this double barrel-aged imperial stout comes in at 12% when those aforementioned beers clock in at 15%. mouthfeel is on point though. thick and full with a lively carbonation in the finish. overall, not bad by any means. has some aging capabilities but right now the dark fruits (hops?) are the main focus even in spite of being double barrel-aged.

Matte black with a tall tan foam head.
Splintery, woody oak meets a mild yet forward roast. A good balance of cacao and peppery whiskey give way to an overall old school stout vibe.
