Served on tap at none other then the Three Floyds brewpub.

Poured into a 16 Oz clear plastic cup. Strange for such a highly regarded brewery to serve in plastic but moving on... Smells hoppy, but not as over the top hoppy like an alpha king. Its smell is on par with pride and joy and maybe a little gumballhead. Nice astringency and a light citrus fruit presence. Taste is quite bitter, no surprise and ESB with a good hoppiness is quite bitter. The taste is not very strong however. I can taste some bitter grains and the light hop profile, other then that, not much going on. This is a pretty good beer, its taste is more bland then I would like to have seen from Floyds but a good beer never the less.

On tap at FFF

A - Deep, cooper amber with a one finger head sitting on top. Slight haze to it with decent looking body

S - Hints of Orange, lemon and pine. Nose becomes mildly fragrant as it warms up

T - Light orange peel and lemon are the first hints. On the end, the beer becomes more bitter and stronger with pine and lemon peel coming through. The finish is piney, bitter hops which are stronger than originally anticipated

MF -  Medium body with slight carbonation and stickiness. Carbonation increases as time goes on to give the beer a full mouthfeel before dropping off. Leaves a nice hop resin feeling in the mouth as part of the finish

O -  Very solid and tasty bitter from  FFF.  Nicely balanced with a good mouthfeel. Will be curious to see how this compares to  Admiral Nelson

On-tap at FFF.

A - Pours a rusty reddish/brown color, white head, spotty lace.

S - Sweet and fruity, light hops, burnt sugary malts. Smells more to style then I'm use to...FFF always seems to hop-up everything, but this one isn't that way.

T - Similar to the nose. Sweet malts, fruity notes, some caramel. More malts and less hops, which is "not normal" for FFF. Finish is malty sweetness and slight caramel notes.

M - Light body, good carbonation, malty toasted finish.

O - A nice ESB, but nothing in the beer makes me want to have another. I guess it's a nice change of pace, but with the current draft list that's at the BrewPub right now, I won't be going back for this one.

Lawless ESB

Enjoyed on tap @ FFF

Pours a dark reddish brown that is transparent. An inch of white head tops the brew and leaves webby walls of lacing.

The nose has a lot of pine and grapefruit notes integrated with a bit of nutty malt.

The taste is fresh and hoppy as hell. Zesty citrus. There is some buttery notes as well as a bit of nutty malt that comes in after the hops have faded.

The mouthfeel is crisp, carbonated, and thirst-quenching. A summer beer that could be enjoyed all day everyday refreshing.

Overall, citrus hops, badass malt, balance, and a great refreshing mouthfeel make this labomba.

Ontap at FFF.
Served in an imperial nonic.

Dark reddish brown with an off-white head of one finger. I think 'copper' is a perfect adjective for the color.
Malty notes are sweet and bready with an earthy grassy hop bite. Nice bitterness on the back end. Some citrusy fruity notes are sneaking in as it warms a bit.

Feel is medium-full with a good carbonation level and it leans more towards the full side. Little oily feel lingers.

Overall-- I'm not the hugest fan of the style, which lends to me to rate a little more generously than those styles in which I'm more confident...Not bad, but not one I really want to drink again-- but chalk that up to my preference for other styles!
