Murky dark brown with just a wisp of off white head. Nose is figs, molasses, oak, a hint of cherries and orange. The dryness of the oak is very forward as is the vanilla and slight buttery taste. The orange on the nose creeps in and fades to a slightly earthy note. There's a nice brown sugar pop on the finish. This beer is a little out of balance with much barrel and maybe a bit too much whiskey. (Found my old notes on this one)

Murky, reddish brown body; extremely thin to soon non-existent head; small bead of bubbles circling the glass after a second pour. Deep roasted malt aroma exuding a fine blend of fig and bourbon notes. Rich caramel flavor also infused with dark, dried pitted fruits; some boozy qualities; brown sugar. Heavy body; interesting blend of residual sugars with alcohol heat.

A respectable, high impact barley wine, a bit rough around the edges yet still hitting the mark for the style.
