Bought a mix pack from these guys and this is the first one I tried. I'd like to point out that the 38 Faces seems to be a series from reading Pikes Peak's website, and this one is the Pineapple Milkshake version of that. There is another listing for that version in particular but I'm reviewing it here since this is where most of the reviews seem to be.
Pours medium-gold and hazy but not as hazy as some other IPAs I've been enjoying recently. Pour didn't result in much head and what was there cleared up quite quickly. Nose on this one is citrusy, tangerine most notably, and something else I can't quite pick out, maybe like black tea - definitely herbal. I don't get the pineapple of this iteration's namesake. The herbal note is far more dominant on the palate and tastes a little off to me. Not bad but it tastes like an old-school IPA or something, just not fine-tuned. It's also a little on the sweet side and the mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy, especially for a 6.2 abv. Normally I would commend that but I don't think I'd want more than one of these in a sitting. looking forward to trying the other offerings in the mix pack.

12 oz. Can
Poured into a DFH glass a cloudy dark golden orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a really nice thick/creamy two-finger off-white head, which leaves some really nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a very slight citrus complex (orange, lemon). The taste is hoppy, malty, with a very slight citrus complex (orange, lemon). Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely. Overall, kinda tasty.
