16.9oz bottled 9/18/19. Opened 4/18/21.
Blended dark farmhouse ale with plums. Production time: 24 months.
Ice man pour, not on purpose - looks to lack carbonation on first sight...only a ring around the rim of the glass.
Dark brown with a reddish tint and opaque...looks a little like a glass of prune juice. No lacing.
Fruit - wine grapes and plums, light funk, and wood.
Tart fruit and high acid. The tartness intensifies as it moves from lips to throat...whoa, sour! The most unripe piece of fruit you've ever bitten into. Hard to handle.
Medium body and extremely low carbonation...not sure if that's intentional? Raging acidity and sourness in a mostly dry finish.
Okay. Barely.

A: The beer is dark brown when viewed from afar; a light to moderate amount of carbonation is visible when the beer is held up to a bright light. It poured with just a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderately strong aromas of plums are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has underlying notes of sourness that contrast with the fruitiness of the plums.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the aromas and flavors of plums in this saison - the taste was particularly interesting given the contrast of the fruitiness of the plums and tartness of the saison.

At my Park Slope beer hang, Gold Star Craft Counter. Lovely. My better half loves this beer and this place also.
Oxbow just brings forward earthen, orchard, yeasty notes in its farm to craft brews.
As good as they come.
