Had on tap. Brownish black with no head save a tan collar. Smell and taste have the same elements: earthy dark malts and grains with pine branches, light char, oak bark and maple syrup, but the delivery is different. Smell is all together, were the maple and dark elements lie underneath the wood, very pleasant either way. Feel is medium bodied, earthy, woodsy, and has a general rust darkness. Great for happy hour on a cool winter day. The wife loved it
