12 oz in a becker at the brewery.
Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy orange. Short white head disappears quickly. Looks pretty good.
Aroma: The chalkboard promises a lot for this one. It says this is brewed with “Maine-grown grains, European hops, marigold florets, bee-pollen & wildflower honey.” Whole lot going on there. Credit where due, it really does smell like those things. Smells like a mix of flowers, honey and fresh cut grass on a wet spring day.
Taste: Follows nose. Honey is more pronounced on the palate than the nose. Almost reminds me of an iced tea in a way. In a good way, though. It had the light and refreshing quality of iced tea with honey while also having flavor and body.
Mouthfeel: Has kind of a punchy spiciness and a slight booze kick. Best sipped. Not a “big” beer, but worth a slow approach.
Overall: I think this is pretty badass. Might strike some as overly “busy,” but a very enjoyable nontraditional saison.
