Poured from a can at fridge temp at The Hanging Bat in Edinburgh. Pours an insanely thick and creamy black with almost zero head. The nose is toffee, vanilla, chocolate, and a bit of lactose. The taste is chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, biscuits, ginger, and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is super thick and creamy. An amazing stout.

Here's one: what does Norway and Mexico have in common? Nothing. ...until now. And that's because Amundsen Brewery makes a beer that tastes like those Mexican hot chocolates from the South of the Boarder. Barrel Aged and spiced with vanilla, cinnamon and cocoa, this stout won't be held back by geographic boudaries.

Onyx-black, frothy with a deep tan topping, and mirror-like in its sheen, Barrel Aged Sticky Little Fingers jumps right out with a highly roasty perfume, hedging on smoky, burnt and robust. A whisky spice links up with other spice additions for a sharp, roasty scent that leads into a savory sweet taste of caramel, vanilla, heavy toast and an equally robust sense of burnt sugars.

This heavy carbonized malt profile is the perfect base flavors for a sense of espresso, roasted walnut, campfire and burnt toast. Trending coffee-like with a soothing spice of baker's chocolate and cinnamon as a hint of holiday flavors emerge. Trending broadly bitter with a java-like bite, the late taste is lightly acrid, ashy and premierely roasty to close.

Spices of whisky and charred oak highlight the beer's barrel aged influence in finish. A long aftertaste of dark coffee, burnt sugars and roasted spices create a long and warming after palate, leading well into the next sip. As a welcomed departure from the pastry effects of most stouts, the Scandanavian regions are keeping these drier and roastier trends alive.

De Capitán Amargo. En copa shaker. En Sercotel Granada Suites. Brutal. Sedosidad pasmosa, con un excelente equilibrio entre el paso por barrica, la canela y el perfil chocolatoso nada pesado que no decae en ningún momento. El abv muy bien oculto, resultando fácil de beber a pesar de su tamaño y graduación
