From the half liter bottle, it pours a slightly hazy light yellow color with a modest head that soon diminishes to a thin layer. Light scent in the nose, possibly grassy. Taste is light, slightly hoppy and refreshing.

Pours a very clouded pale golden color with a big, stable white head atop.
Aromas are of wet hay, floral lavender and spicy earth among a sweet, rustic toffee note.
Has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a light body, getting highlighted by a late, moderate and well nuanced effervescence.
Tastes of cooked potatoes, slightly bitter tarragon and soothing white bread dough among lighter wood, together with a light note of spicy honey. Offers sugar glazed toffee then, together with a subtle floral and mellow dryness. Finishes creamy, with a citrusy bitterness, as well as gently toasted grains and sweet, dried hay.
Drinks very light and refreshing, smooth with a well put hop profile and a mellow maltiness.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Straw rather than gold, pours with slight haze and 5mm fine-bubble white head. ps. 10mins later -> holds very well and forms lacing on the way down.
S- Very mild, I'm unable to discern any specific notes.
T- Pretty trad hoppy-dry right on the front but then robust enough malts soon follow to give balance. The aftertaste is a dry brush of hops (again) on the tongue and throat.
F- Bright and hence refreshing, yet pretty meaty so satisfying on the palate.
O- I like this, it's very trad in one sense yet does it well with nothing extranious. The combo of notable hops together with it's notable malty body work well together and are distinctive.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! --> The beer is clearly bottle-conditioned, there is a layer of sediment left behind there. All in German, 'unfiltered' is all I get. Oh and it's labelled as 'Lagerbier - Helles Zwickelbier'.... it's the Zwickelbier style that proved distinctive for this one.
500ml bottle BB: 16/09/2021 £3.25 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
