A: Poured from the half-growler into a Duvel tulip. Body is golden-yellow with a 1-finger white head on top. Some lace.

S: Modest nose of bread doughy malt and leafy, herbal hops.

T: Tropical fruit and ripe melon come to mind early, then bitter pine - mainly needles, but some resin too, at the finish. Good lingering dry bitterness on the aftertaste. "Clean" is a descriptor that I keep coming back to.

M: Call it medium in heft; carbonation is fine, bordering on creamy.

O: Very good.

Love the normal Hoponius Union and as expected, this just has even more citrus and tropical hops to it. Really awesome, highly recommend trying to find this version of it.

On tap. Love Hoponius Union. Lets see how this one does. Pours a light copper color. Aroma is incredibly hoppy while still maintaining a pleasant lager theme. Hops are resiny, earthy, fruity and citrusy. The excessive dry hopping doesn't completely change this beer. Flavor maintains the importance of the lager yeast. The hops are clearly aggressive. Floral, woody, piney and tropical-fruity hops. Back end sweetness. Resiny feel. Still manages to finish dry. I loved this beer. Hoponius Union on HGH,

Outstanding, if not world class, hopped lager. Shit all mighty it's hopped up - like Hoponius Union but turned up to 11. Aroma and taste is all pine, flora and tropical fruit. The dryness and crispness of the lager is what sets it apart. Reason alone to head to the brewery.

Has a golden yellow with a dense half finger white foam cap And great lacings

Aroma of rich sweet tropical fruits

Taste of the hops on the middle and back of the tongue . No bitterness just flavor

Good sudsing which quickly settles. Almost creamy in texture. Feel the alcohol

Had on tap. Loved the original hoponius union, this one boost the hops, but smartly dry hopping, as not to take away from the lager feel. Add more citrus and tropical fruit to the nose and taste, yet still has plenty of bready malts and lager yeast. Crisp, even smooth and lighter, and bready.

Light orange/gold color, some haziness. Good hazy color, some lacing on the glass as it drinks down. Really nice, tropical, dank smell. Galaxy and Nelson shine through beautifully in this one. Light-medium carbonation on the feel and very smooth. Awesome beer.

Cloudy gold. Thin head good lacing down the side. Tremendous hops smell. Galaxy shines on the taste with the nelson finishing. Carbonation present smooth but not an elite smoothness. Probably the best beer I've had from Jack's.

This beer seems to jump the shark compared to the great regular HU. The dry hopping adds only base bitterness and little aroma - perhaps they were left in for too long?

Golden orange in color. Cloudy in appearance. Smells like pineapple juice. Very balanced. Not overly bitter, not too sweet. Lots of tropical fruit. Minimal biscuit malt foundation.

A - 2 fingers of dense, white head. Excellent retention and lacing. Opaque, hazy apricot colored body.

S - Intense melon and citrus (grapefruit) upon opening the growler. Slight pine comes through when poured.

T - Follows the nose with more pronounced melon notes (honey dew and cantaloupe) and less pronounced citrus.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Clean finish.

O - The dry hopping brings out the best of Hoponious Union while adding a significant boost to the flavor profile. For such a juicy hop profile, the drinkability is pretty amazing.

Man, I haven't been this impress with Jack's Abby since 2012.

-Pours a gorgeous golden color with about a finger and a half of head. There is some nice lacing in my glass.

-the nose on this beer is where it really shines. A combination of Orange and melon assault my nose. A hint of passion fruit scent in there. Maybe the Citra hops? The smell of this version kicks regular Hoponius Union ass. Way too different in classes.

-Boom! Melon and Orange slapping my tongue around. Grapefruit rind and pine bitterness gently coming behind with and clean and refreshing drinkability. The Lager yeast works beautifully here. Hops profile are strong in this version.

-Medium carbonate and goes down extremely easy. I could gobble down the hops pretty easily, making the drinkability pretty scary.

-Overall, this is amazing! I could drink this version of Hoponius Union all day, every day. Please, make this one official Jack's Abby!

Poured from a 64 ounce growler into an enlarged snifter. This was filled at the brewery yesterday (1/21).

Appearance: Pours a nice, hazy creamsicle orange, and leaves a finger of fairly dense, slightly off-white head, which lingers for a while. Hazy to the point of being just about opaque. (4.5)

Smell: Delicious melon, citrus (esp. grapefruit), spruce, orange creme, a hint of pineapple. Such bright, vibrant fruit smells explode from the beer. As good as regular Hop U is, this is an entire different animal. Fantastic. (5)

Taste: That melon, citrus and spruce/pine combo again, with some additional earthy flavors. The flavors blend really well together, and create an extremely drinkable, refreshing profile. All the big hop flavors, without much bitterness (although there is some). (4.75)

Mouth-feel: Medium to well carbonated with a medium, slightly spritzy body. Goes down really smooth, and finishes with juicy hop flavors. (4.5)

Overall: The dry hopping combined with how fresh this is makes this a top tier hoppy beer. Perhaps it's the lagering, but the finish on this is exquisite and juicy. I hope they make this more because this is among the best refreshing, hoppy beers I've had. (4.75)
