Appearance – One finger head on a hazy yellow body.
Aroma – Citrusy hops, mostly oranges. A slight hint of melon.
Taste – Smooth bitter hops with a light breadiness but not too complex.
Mouthfeel – Smooth and a little creamy, not bad for a lager.
Overall – Interesting experiment but not sure it worked very well.

Maize colored with a light haze. Moderate head which settles to rim bubbles. It does leave some minor streaks and spots.
Tropical aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and mango. I do not pick up on the tapioca, lactose, and coffee as stated on the menu.
The taste is aggressive, a bit biting. I find this drier than the smell would suggest. I like the complexity. Full bodied but also highly carbonated. The coffee does show up in the swallow and aftertaste but in a subtle way. More pronounced is the biting hop, which leaves a long slowly dissipating aftertaste.

16oz can. Pours a hazy burnt orange color with an inch of frothy head. Some lacing. Sweet aroma of tropical and citrus fruits, vanilla and tea. Maybe a slight hint of coffee. The taste is vanilla and tangerine along with tea and guava. Coffee at the end but I get more tea flavor than coffee for some reason. Medium body with lots of carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel but also slightly oily. This is a weird beer but it works somehow and is something I would buy again.

After a month of what seems like drinking straight stouts, porters, quads, etc. leading up and through the Christmas holiday, I was really in the need for a change up; and, I thought this beer would be a good accommodation of that with the coffee and all so I was in. And now that this snow has me dug in, I can enjoy it during the morning because that's what the advertising is telling me to do.
So, it's bright gold without being sunny, dazzling or magnificent. Like a chilled glass of whisky with the ice melted. Head was ecru with moderate build and a decent retention.
Tropical aroma. Light accent of coconut water, fruity pebbles, banana pudding, nilla wafers. No outright coffee.
Seeing how tapioca is a natural thickener, it has a fuller and creamier body than most lagers. Very nice carbonation and crisp bitterness, however, keeps it in the lager ballpark.
Taste doesn't approach sweetness of aroma, and I'm still missing the coffee. I guess they donate some acridity, but these grounds are spent. There's some earthiness to it, but that could easily just be the cassava. Getting a lot of malt flavor. Ironically, coffee cake comes to mind; pie crust. Pomelo dotted breadfruit.
