Poured a clear, red/gold color with a huge, foamy white head that lasted and coated the glass vigorously.
The smell seemed a bit weak - definitely citrus with earthy notes, maybe a hint of sweetness. Clean smell, just not very strong.
The flavor picked up from the aroma considerably. Exceptionally clean taste with well-defined citrus (grapefruit/orange) and a pleasant cracker malt. The earthy character is quite strong and I would presume that is from the beet. It is straightforward and crisp - nothing earth-shattering, but a well constructed beer.
The feel is relatively light, the flavors are sharp, crisp and do not linger. Nicely carbonated. easy drinker.
It's a one-and-done for this one, apparently, but I am happy to have tried it. Not sure it fits the category of American Lager exactly since the brewer calls it an IPL, but close enough. (Review from notes).

Didn't know what to expect from the contents of this fancy 16 oz. Pink Boots Brew can. Thought that a Pink IPL might be a watered down version of that style. Fortunately, that was not the case. While it was quite different in color and taste from many IPLs I've tasted, it was nonetheless a refreshingly mild and relatively light but tasty IPL with a reasonable 5% ABV. Once again, Jack's Abby has shown its versatility in producing unique Lagers.

Canned 4/06/18
Pours a rosy pinkish decent fizzy head that hits a finger and fades semi quickly, a bit of spotty lacing, very hazy cranberry rosy color
Nose plenty of candy sweet malts, caramel like, reddish toasted grainy malt, little candy note, mild grassy floral hops, a touch of citrus and fruit, not much lager
Taste brings more malts, toasted grainy biscuity with a bit of caramel like, then herbal earthy grassy hops, a bit of fruity note but not much, a bit of herbal earthy beets as well interestingly, quite earthy almost earth soil, a bit of a soft lagering, hops turning a bit spicy and more earthy on the drier finish, plenty more soil and earthy beets, spicy hop note and candy sweet malts
Mouth is med bod a bit of a soft lager, decent carb
Overall meh, it's an interesting beer to make but not very good, very little lager and what's there seems to clash with the weird hops and earthy soil beets, just doesn't make me want to drink much of it

Candied orange peel, grapefruit and grass. Light bodied. Really balanced between bitterness and sweetness. For only 5% this packs a good flavor without being heavy. Real good.
