Working with the fantastic people at Mighty Axe Hops, we crafted a beer that would effectively highlight the freshest of hops character. A “wet hops” beer, made with ripe picked Centennial hops grown in Foley, MN! Literally picked up just minutes after harvest, they were rushed back to the brewery to be utilized in our brewing process. Our aim was to extract all the great aroma and delicate nuances of green hops. The result, a beautifully bright distinct citrus laden example of a fresh hop IPA. Don’t take our word for it though, it’s availability will be short lived come get some ASAP!

At the tap room, into a shaker. This is the 2019 version, which is an experimental hop, not centennial (though it might be a relative of centennial, I’d guess). Pretty down the middle of the road, for a hoppy ipa...fresh and refreshing with a modest liveliness and even softer bitterness...not super green or dank...some nice fresh melon, orange peel, light malt backbone. Good stuff...not too memorable, but i’ll happily have another.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Available Sept/Oct 2018.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Two finger white head settles back to thick cap. Leaves behind circles of lacing.
Aroma is green vegetal hops, rather earthy and a little floral.
Really has a fresh hop taste, with reminders of green hop cones. Has a light, floral flavor as well. Not much for bitterness, but has a hint of hop burn.
Smooth, medium mouth feel. Good carbonation. Has a sort of soapy feel throughout the taste profile.
Distinct fresh hop flavor, but the taste is rather subdued. Always interesting to try a fresh hop ale, because there is no real expectation as to what the flavors will be.
