This is billed as a golden doppelbock and is more along the lines of a Salvator type of doppel. It's fantastic...
Nice rich maltiness....some melanoids...toasty malts...some dark fruits...plums...red grapes...
Not too rich...not as sweet as Salvator but a nice rich maltiness none the less. Drinks clean....I did a blind taster with several doppels of Minnesota origin along the maibock style and I scored this a 98 out of 100. The next closest was Bad Weather at 90. Noted : "toasted malt aroma...rich decotated malts...honied...
Great beer from a great brewery..I had this one stashed away for the the 4th of July weekend.
