A - Pours an opaque black body, with some brown highlighting, very light tan head, short and fairly fast fade, and some small line and bubble lacing.
S - Strong bread note, a bit of coffee as it warms, while some grains and grassiness and a touch of earthy limestone come through as accenting notes.
T - Front of dark bread, molasses and honey, middle introduces some floral hops, and a moderate bitterness that sharpens in the fade, lingering with a mild bread note after the close.
M - Brisk carbonation and fairly light weight make this one easy to drink, but the dry finish does build over time.
O - This is one of my favorite styles, and this is a very good rendition for my tastes, I might add. Will pick this up again.

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Clear dark brown, good head.
Smell: Nice roasted malt aroma.
Taste: Nutty at first, then the roasted malt takes over and carries through the finish. Maybe a little grassiness in the finish as well. Not too heavy, not too light in feel.
Overall: Steel Toe is an underrated brewery and I've been trying to buy more of their stuff lately. This schwarzbier is tasty, roasty, and refreshing. Another good one from Steel Toe.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left some sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, toffee, caramel and some coffee. Nice roasted malt and coffee taste with light toffee notes.

12oz can. Stamped on bottom lip of the can is '09/28/22'.
Dark brown to black colored body, with a thin garnet back lit edge. Long lasting light tan head. Some scattered strings of lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts, somewhat faint. As the beer warms, notes of coffee and chocolate become more expressive.
Taste is complex and full. Dark roasted malts has flavors of caramel, darker chocolate, some cream, cola, and a late coffee addition, along with tobacco. Aftertaste is molasses coated dark roasted malts.
Fuller mouth feel, with a spicy note. Excellent carbonation.
This beer is an excellent brew, and should be sought out by those that savor a dark lager.
