9% ABV In our sixth installment of our Crew Brew series, we tapped into the mind of our delivery specialist, Cory. This Imperial Alt was based off a traditional Sticke Alt, then we turned it up. Aromas of dark caramel, toffee, raisin & slight spice. The complex malt bill and traditional German hops lead to flavors of dark fruits, toffee & rye grains.

12oz can. Bottom lip is stamped 'CANNED ON 03/12/25', two months in the can.
Dark brown colored body. Light tan colored head collapses to a scalloped full cap and high ring. Partial walls of lacing.
Aroma is very faint, but some rye malt.
Taste is much more expressive than the nose. Rich flavors of sweet caramel, spicy rye malts, dark fruit (plum and prune), and hints of coriander and cinnamon. Aftertaste is caramel and rye, intermixed.
More than medium mouthfeel. Smooth texture. Mild bitterness, but pleasant. Higher ABV% is well integrated, but generally hidden. Excellent carbonation.
Sleeper hit. Hardly any aroma but the taste profile is way above average.

Appearance: Clear dark brown, good head.

Taste: Starts mildly sweet, then a nice mix of caramel sweetness and toffee, a bit of raisin, touch of leather. Medium bodied. Finishes with the raisin and a touch of bitterness.
Overall: Not sure I've ever had an imperial alt before, but this is a tasty one. Steel Toe just seems to make everything well. Reminds me a lot of a doppelbock, malty but balanced.
