Rosé colored body, rather cloudy but not opaque; lively carbonation; thick and velvety head. Clean, strong scent of raspberries; cherry cola. Muted taste; the raspberry is dialed down low and the kölsch base is well-hidden. Medium body; soft and velvety; light acidic touch but more watery than juicy.

My sample was given to me a few months ago and the beer was canned August 17th, 2020. I've lost a lot of my liking for fruit beers, and based on the smell, expected the taste of this one to be a bit over-the-top. Instead, I found a fine looking beer with a pleasing smell, but the taste and mouthfeel were pretty dull and lifeless. Not bad, I suppose, and at least it didn't go crazy with intense raspberry flavors, but perhaps it could have been amped up a wee bit more to give the beer more oomph and distinction.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.

Pours a reddish orange, small but sticky head of foam.

I get notes of tart raspberries, wheat, earthy in the smell.

Good raspberry tartness taste, wheat, fruity and nice.

Thin bodied, good drinkability.

A 12oz. can dated 07/25/18 poured in a 13oz. snulip glass.

Look- Pours a cloudy light red/pink color generating a couple centimeters of soapy off white foam that doesn't stick around long.

Smell- Heavy raspberry, a touch if floral and green melon.

Taste- Raspberry forward, a little bread/biscuit in the finish.

Feel- Light and chuggable.

Overall- Nothing fancy here. You could have told me it was raspberry Kool Aid and I would have believed it. An easy drinking raspberry flavored thirst quencher.

Aroma: Raspberry purée and light grains, malt sweetness.

Taste: Tart raspberry blends with dry grasses, leaves a tart finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: Really good Raspberry flavors and easy to drink with low ABV.

12 oz. Can

Pours a pretty nice amberish color, nice carbonation, with a pretty nice one-finger off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some raspberries. The taste is malty, yeasty, with some raspberries. Medium body. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Look: One finger of white head dissipates at a reasonable clip. Color is that of hazy raspberry its self. Pretty decent carbonation and no lacing.

Smell: Tart raspberry and a light bready malt.

Taste: Tart raspberry through out closing with more of a bready malt that I'm used to tasting in lagers.

Feel: Light, crisp, dry. Exactly as a Kolsch should be.

Overall: An excelent summer brew. Refreshing. Poundable. Sessionable. I like it. The girlfriend will like it. everybody's happy. Buy it.

I'm not breaking this beer down because my taster doesn't work that way. I don't like fruity beers and I don't like the kolsch style, but this one is special. This drinks like raspberry tea. It's very light and refreshinig. This is the beer I want to drink while grilling fish or chicken or mowing the yard on a hot day.

Better looking than most fruity beers. Slightly pinkish hue, but mostly amber highlights. Slightly tinited head, too, but nothing too over the top. Smell is intensely, puckeringly tart with raspberries. Reminiscent of Fort, only a much lesser degree of intensity. Fresh and natural smelling, free from any artificial traits. Taste is fruit-dominate, just toned down a bit. Lightly tart and dry in the finish. The kolsch style stacks up well with the bold raspberry flavors. Perfumey, floral characteristics go well with the tart fruits. Not very sweet, just tasty.

I like this one a lot, despite my aversion to fruit beers and the kolsch style, the two came together to make a tasty summer brew.
