Poured from a bottle dated 8/8/2015 into my snifter glass. Poured a dark black color with a thin tan head on top. The nose was mild not over powered by the coffee like I had expected. The taste is a nice blend with the coffee being mellowed out by the oak aging and allowing the chocolate and the other flavors to come through.
The mouth feel is about right for a porter. All in all a good solid beer in this style.

Black body capped with a fizzy, foamy, light tan head. Powerful aroma of hot chocolate and cocoa; peanut butter; roasted nuts. Bold chocolate flavor; hints of coffee bitterness; trace of alcohol. Heavy body; smooth and glass-like on the palate; luscious sweetness that ends with a twinge of dryness.
Rich and full-bodied dark ale that packs in a lot of chocolate and dark, roasted grain flavors. There is an initial heavy sweetness with both the flavor and mouthfeel yet it all balances out with some additional bitterness and dryness from the alcohol. This makes for a fine, cold-weather, sip-and-nip-in-front-of-a-hardwood-fire brew...

Poured into a standard 12 oz tulip glass. Nice deep brown color with nice head and lacing. No real recognizable scent. Initial taste primarily coffee but as it warms more chocolate and oak comes through. Perhaps a bit thin for a porter and slightly over-carbonated but a very enjoyable brew. Definitely worth a try.
