Nice dark body, clear on the pour, opaque in the glass; fair head, light khaki in color, thin yet somewhat creamy; some sheeting inside the glass. Rich, malty aroma; some boozy barrel quality; sweet; faint cocoa and vanilla (especially as the beer warms up a bit); esters. Good flavor; dark roast grains; light touch of caffeine; mocha; slight bitterness. Heavy body; silky and smooth on the palate; light alcohol warmth.

This is a nice beer, dark and flavorful. I didn't see any bottling date information, so the age is unknown, but the beer has some respectable character to it; balanced and tasty, but nothing really distinctive emerges.

Poured at 46 °F; no bottling date noted on the label or bottle.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.

Pours black but not pitch black, small head of tan foam, good lacing.

It smells of graham crackers, vanilla, whiskey, sweet.

Taste is nice whiskey flavour, graham crackers, vanilla, well integrated flavours all around. Booze is there but not too intrusive.

High end of medium bodied.

Good stuff.

this is brilliant liquid, hands down the best beer i have ever had from these guys, and really demonstrating a new level of quality and competency than i have known from them before. its insane really. barrel aged imperial graham cracker porter, done with coffee, vanilla, coconut, and cocoa, but none of the additives really leap out above the base beer, and all integrate so well, this is wonderfully good, especially this time of year. something special here. its sexy in the glass, matte near black, not overly dense or slick looking, with almost two inches of creamy head from the tap, so soft and elegant for a beer so big. it smells and tastes awesome too, i think the whiskey barrels lead ahead of any of the adjuncts, but the coconut is for sure first among those in nose and taste, tastefully done though, even a little reserved, where there is plenty of space for the base beer to still be awesome. not sure i can ever go back to the regular one after this, the depth of the imperial version is noticeable even without all the extras. i like the balance here, and while the elements arent equal, they fit together right. i hate too much vanilla in something like this, and its not here, there is enough of that from the whiskey. i like the wet woodiness, it makes it wintery, and i think even though coffee is the weakest part of this in terms of coming through the base beer, it adds something important, a bitterness and deeper roast that keeps this from being desserty. overall i was astounded by the quality, the velvety smooth texture, and the uniqueness of something that on paper doesnt sound all that different from what everyone else is doing. well worth sourcing this, its their crowning achievement to date in my opinion!
