Had on tap at the Platte St brewery/taproom
On arrival a barely 1 finger of white fine head was present that quickly dissipates to a ring around the rim that leaves some lacing. Body is a very hazy light amber.
Smell is big woth molasses and caramel coming from intensely fermented malts and maybe some candi sugar. Almost carries a bourboney sweet aroma despite not being sold as barrel aged. Big molasses.
Taste follows the aroma with nice big and malty molasses flavor as well as an almost caramelized bourboney flavor. This is very nuanced and big without being overwhelming like a lot of barrel aged stouts. Despite that this is still quite vanilla-y and sweet like a lot of barrel aged beers. Is this bourbon barrel aged??? The board doesn't say it is but I have a suspicion.
Feel is very carbonated but at the same time super full and mouthcoating with a very long finish. I don't know where this beer truly falls style wise as it has big barrel aged qualities, but it is a more pale belgian "quad"-ish beer. Basically this is huge bit delicious.
Overall this is a super huge belgian quad-ish blonde beer with big barrel aged qualities. I honestly couldn't tell you if this is barrel aged or not since usually that is heavily advertised, but here there is no mention. Good ass very unique beer, that at this point I'm pretty sure is bourbon barrel aged.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
