perhaps my least favorite of the beers i had here last night. this one poured a thick chocolate brown with a fleeting off white head an inch tall. the nose is canned pie filling, and dark chocolatey malts. malt dominated the pumpkin flavor, and while i usually really like the pumpkin dark beers, this one doesnt seem to unite the way others do. the spice is a strange contradiction to the smoth malt, i dont know, its just sort of funny. full body and warming qualities. smooth thexture and a little filling, as i think a good pumpkin beer probably should be. this wasnt close to as good as they hey pumpkin ale. skip this if you stop in.

A porter with pumpkin and spices.

Pours a very dark ruby red, which is more apparent along the edges. Quick head, off-brown/tan. Builds to about a finger high then settles. Vigorous swirl brings it back only to settle to fine collar.

Pumpkin pie spice up front. Nutmeg, pumpkin and slight cocoa. Can totally tell this is a pumpkin beer just by the nose. Strong spice with out much sweetness.

The spice is good, but perhaps a bit much. Or maybe the spice overpowers the porter aspects. Roasted malt and burnt toast are subtle. Slight cocoa doesn't put up much of a fight, but it's there.

Overall a good beer, must try. Would like to see more porter-eque flavors.
