They threw their Upslope collaboration into a spent red wine barrel for a while. This came out.
Dark pour, borders black. Creamy tan head, thin lacing.
Dark cherry aroma with some red wine hints. Some touches of oak and chocolate.
With time, the cherry characteristics have faded and replaced with red wine. A bit tannin and earthy, some black plum and light licorice. Chocolate has a staunch position it will not give up. I wouldn't call the red wine parts dominant, but they certainly come to play.
Feels smooth and light, but not light. A bit creamy and akin to wine. Tannin hints. Wonder if next time they put the beer in wine barrels first, then add cherries....
