On tap. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of peaches, oak, vanilla and caramel. Sweet peach taste with a hint of tartness. Notes of oak, vanilla and whiskey.

You have to like whiskey to enjoy this, and you particularly need to like beer that tastes like whiskey to love it. I didn't get much peach flavor, just the malt backbone and then oak soaked whiskey. This did not jive with my pizza. Fool me once...

a major letdown from odell, which is disappointing because they are usually so reliable and unique with their wood aged stuff. on tap at fire on the mountain, i expected a whole lot more from it. orange brassy in color, mostly clear, basically still, no head at all. an aroma of dried peach is there, with some sweet oak and maybe a little white wine or something, with a hint of fruity acidity, and then just a lot of sweet but kind of bland and boring grain. the taste matches the nose about the same, except that the peach is way back, not nearly as forward as it was in the nose. the wood is nice on it, thats really the best feature. its earthy and rich at the same time, and pronounced over the pale ale base. there needs to be some hops in this for balance, its just not there, and there needs to be a lot less leftover sugar. i had a hard time finishing a short pour of it, and it filled me up and made me feel weird. the idea of this beer is infinitely better than its execution. really unimpressed overall.

Pour a clear, slightly dark pale with minimal head. Aroma is definitely malty, more sweet than toasty, with some whiskey notes coming from the barrel, and some peach. Flavor follows suit with an ever so slight hit of hops in the finish. A medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this one hit the spot for me. I could see there being room for improvement, but I definitely still enjoyed it as is.
