750ml
Caged/Corked
Pours a very nice yellowish color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, spicy. The taste is malty, yeasty, spicy. Medium body, AVE hidden pretty well. Overall, a tasty brew.

Corked and caged 750. I see a lot of sediment near the bottom of the bottle.
First pour is clear orange yellow, second, things get hazy. That will turn to cloudy, I'm sure.
Small head of foam sitting on top, lots of lacing but it isn't sticky.
Smells of banana, cloves, pineapple, pepper, barnyard. Loads going on aroma wise.
I taste cloves, banana, pineapple, pear, white pepper; it's sort a sweet and has a hint of barnyard. I keep expecting some sort of tartness but I don't think I am pulling that out.
Fairly light on body and carbonation. Finishes notably on the dry side.
Excellent Saison.

someone told me this beer has ten yeast strains in it, and if thats true, its amazing how under flavored this seems to be. cool name, cool concept, but for this much yeast, it really doesnt taste that different than a clean belgian style with one really good yeast strain. i guess there is a little wild tartness to this hazy yellow brew, maybe a lick of new brett, but whatever belgian strain(s) that are in here is definitely leading the way. mild funk in here, but i get bubblegum and rock candy and those sort of bright fruity tones that are familiar. the malt base is light, almost too light, not a lot of body and not much flavor either, it seems boring for what it is, which is a disappointment, because i really think the potential is there. from a technical aspect, its totally fine, but i want it to be more interesting from a yeast standpoint, and it just doesnt get there. i have had it on draft a few times now, and have noted red apple and white grape suggestions, but i bet this ages well and will continue to develop pretty well, although a fuller flavored more interesting beer out of this base seems quite a long ways off. a step below odells usually very high standards in my opinion...

This is a very light, yellow-orange hazy brew. The head is fluffy and white. Lots of cloudiness and the aroma has a spritzy, fruity, funkiness, along with a mellow light malt note. The taste is a bit more sweet and malty than typical for the style. Light brett, a bit of yeast, and lots of complexity. After a few sips, there is some warming. Fuller in body than expected. Very good.

This redolent reddish-orange pours with two-fingers of sustained white froth. Brett, pineapple, white grape and green apple float nicely to the nose. Tastes of brett and more light fruits with a hint of sugar in the finish. Light to medium soft and dry as can be. There's some fruit peel in the aftertaste.
This might not be extreme enough for some, but it's about as well-balanced and flavorful as it gets in my book.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a hazy straw colored yellow and topped by a dense two finger white head which retains well and leaves decent lacing.
S: Smells of tropical fruits and light pale malts with a little bit of funk and a hint of some spicy yeast
T: Taste is tropical fruits with a nice blast of funky barnyard and hay along with some spicy yeast. Ever so slightly tart but not very. Swallow is more tropical fruits and spice with a little more funk and hay.
M: This beer is fairly light in body but it is not watery. Carbonation is effervescent and slightly prickly while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this one is pretty good. Not the best but certainly not the worst. Good complexity and minimal faults. I think it could have been a little bolder in flavor but what it does have is very nice balance. Worth a try if you like your farmhouse ales funky.
