over a weekend in fort collins i purchased 96 oz in growlers and 2 pints on tap odells double IPA mycernary aged in oak barrels. Poured a nice unfiltered haze, deep orange in color had a very citrus tropical fruit forward smell with very nice oak notes. (some said it smelled funky i think that is just what you get when you put oak and fruit together) taste just like it smells tropical fruity, oaky and delicious. a spendy brew but worth every penny.

This is a oak barrel aged version of the myrcenary. The appearance is cloudier than the Myrcenary. Heavy lacing and little head retention. The nose is atrocious. I smell burnt balsa wood, rubber, and exhaust. I think this one has been resting on fresh oak for way too long! The taste isn't so bad. The dipa quality comes through with tartness added on top. Fruity notes at the end. Mouthfeel is medium with moderate carbonation. Overall, this beer is quite bad. After previously having the Myrcenary, it seems as if this version has been butchered.
