This was going to be a very quick review unfortunately due to being rushed. Haven’t had as many Monkey Paw beers as I would have liked, but wanted to have this one, maybe the final one brewed by Cosmo. Didn’t know much about it going in, only that it was a big IIPA.
Very dark in this place, but appeared to be a straw gold-to-deep gold yellow color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head when I got it. Light bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass from what I could tell. World-class foamy layered lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled tropical, citrus, floral, dank, honey, pine and resin. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted boozy up front. Rather spicy as well, guessing Centennial and Simcoe for hops among others. Also floral, tropical, resin and somewhat malty overall. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Boozy finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Not as balanced as I’d hoped. Pretty good, but not great. (Overall - 3.75)

Hazy yellow gold with a very frothy off-white head that left dots and streaks and rings of lacing.
Sweet grassy aroma. A nice warm hug of citrus tropical stone fruit on the palate.
Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Slightly bittersweet finish.
Quite tasty.
