Decanted from a 32 oz crowler in to a conical pint glass; canning code 2019201, which I interpret as the 201st day of 2019 or 07/20/2019. Brought back from Anchorage by my daughter (thanks, Á).
A: Pours a hazy, rose-amber color (think rose wine) with a one and a half, frothy, light pink head, no significant retention or lacing.
S: Tangy/tart. Aromas of cherry, cranberry, lactate, and cracker.
T: Tart and sweet. Flavors of cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, cracker, and lactate predominate. Maybe a touch on the back and a sweet, cherry/cracker aftertaste.
M: Light to medium bodied. Sharp on the palate.
O: 49th State is a very popular Anchorage brewery, not far from the train station. Drank very well; my wife particularly enjoyed it. I thought this tasted more like an American Wild Ale than a Fruit beer strictly speaking. I was also very intrigued by the cinnamon flavor, which added substantially to the overall picture. Canned on the 50th Anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's historic Moon walk.
