32 oz. growler into a wine glass.
Appearance: Pours a clearish straw color. The head is a finger high, and white in shade. Retention isn't that good, but the texture is a lot creamier than it could have been. A tiny ring of lacing is left behind. (3.5)
Smell: Considering how dinky it is (3.4%), it's rather bold smell. A healthy aroma of fragrant lavender, coriander, black pepper, and sage mixes well with the gentlest kiss of candied sugar. Really damn solid for what it is. (3.75)
Taste: It's important to keep in mind that this has a very front-loaded flavor profile - it opens (rather vividly, actually) with notes of grass, coriander, lavender, sesame seed, and black pepper. The midtaste is deliciously grainy. Sure, it ends a little watery, but hey, it's 3.4%. Seriously, it's actually moderately complex. (4)
Mouthfeel: So light, it evaporates off of the tongue. It's weak strength pretty much allows this to happen without relying on excessive attenuation or rampaging carbonation. It is somewhat fizzy, but not idiotically so. It manages to be both ridiculously drinkable and slightly savorable all at the same time. (3.75)
Overall: Burley Oak nailed this one. It's very light, but not insubstantial. Shit, it even has a modicum of depth - I've had quite a few 10% beers where I couldn't say that. (3.75)
3.85/5: Seriously, this is 3.4%?!
