Once again, this was a beer that I traded for ages ago while in line at Other Half. Everything that I've been fortunate enough to try from Burley Oak has been great and that was the case with this, as well! One of the liveliest heads that I've seen in a long time was present here as this beer was full of life and quite wondrous to behold!

The beet-colored foam that topped this off was bubbly and quickly filled up my pint glass as it took a while to settle, before big bursting bubbles made it calm down quite rapidly. Any spots of soapy lacing quickly slid down the side of my pint glass as it was nearly clear by the time I finished this off. Tons of blackberry, currant, tartness, and boysenberry, strawberry, and booze in the nose as this felt like a cross between a Fruit / Vegetable beer and an American Wild Ale. The tartness did emerge in the taste with just a hint of acetate and an equal mix of sweet and sour in the taste. Fruit stickiness, mild juice, and a lively carbonation rounded out the mouthfeel that held my attention, even as this fully warmed up...

The right amount of booze was present as it complemented the fruit but didn't overpower it or warm me up too much during my session. A mild funkiness lingered throughout but to me, this was about the fruit and how nicely everything melded together. Sure, this beer may be a gimmick but it's one that I can get on board with. Once again, I just wish that the date was printed on the bottom of the can!

Appearance is an opaque super dark purple. Poured with 1.5 fingers of fluffy pink head.

Aroma is tart dark berries. I cannot pick out the boysenberries from the black currents but that’s ok, I don’t need to. Smells great.

Taste is definitely an overload of boysenberry with some currants thrown in for good measure. Slightly tart upfront with an ever so slightly sweet finish.

Feel is full, creamy and smooth. Carb is moderate and spot on.

Overall a fantastic fruited beer. Very well done and I’m glad for the opportunity to try this one!

Another great can from Burley oak. Great balance between sourness and fruits. Though a little bit sweet for my personal taste.

Sometimes the Jreams have a vinegar kinda taste. But this one is a class.

Poured into a Teku glass from the can release (9/23/17)

Appearance: A very dark purple with minimal head that quickly fades. The beer is opaque due to the 3lbs of fruit per gallon.

Aroma: Lots of fruity aroma coming from the pour. Honestly, not sure what boysenberries smell like but I assume it has that aroma. Mild hints of sourness smell can be detected.

Taste: Very complex fruity flavor with some sweetness. Sourness is present but not in your face.

Mouthfeel: Nicely carbonated with a full body.

Overall: Another winner in the J.R.E.A.M. Series. At 7% it hides the alcohol very well.
