Nice cloudy honey color. Carbonation to spare, but settled quickly. Nose is yeast, wheat, and (although I may have been influenced by the label) bread dough. Taste is wheat, some pleasant funk, a bit of sour. Subtle hoppy bitterness pretty much only on the very back of the tongue. Carbonation dominates the mouth feel -- maybe a bit too much. Overall, I think this is a solid beer. I have only had a few other Saisons so Hard for me to say how it fares in class. Pretty sure I would enjoy this even more outside in the Summer. Another great example where Hardywood picked an aptly descriptive name for one of their brews.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a snifter.
Pours a cloudy pale orange with a nice frothy white two inch head that settles down to a half inch in sixty seconds with minimal lacing.
There is some pleasant funk.
The taste is similar but with an underlying bite, something sharp I cant quite put my finger on it. Is it the spelt, wheat, and bread? Probably.
Highly carbonated with a bit of a lighter body than what I'm used to in a saison but Its really quite nice.
Hardywood has some work to do in this category. Its nice to see them branching out from their money makers (GBS & company). This isn't a very complex brew but, that being said, this is a refreshing and highly drinkable farmhouse style ale. One that I hope the good people over at Hardywood continue to work on.
