Can’t agree with all the low ratings on this one. Nice balance of coffee and honey with slight hints of spices. Definitely different. Forget stout and just think holiday ale with coffee. Probably not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON: 111920"

Appearance: The body of the beer is medium gold colored and hazy. It has a short white head with a creamy texture that doesn't last long on the surface. No lacing.

Aroma: There is a bit of a cream corn scent and alcohol. A chili pepper scent come through on the nose as well.

Taste: Up front there is a sweet caramel flavor with a bit of vanilla. Towards the middle of the palate a nice cinnamon and ginger combo comes together very pleasantly. The aftertaste is this chili pepper flavor mixed with cinnamon. Alcohol lingers in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: The body rests on the lower part of medium. Carbonation is good and it is easy to drink.

Overall: The label on the can states that this is an "Imperial White Milk Stout with Spices, Cocoa Nibs, Honey, and Coffee." Most likely the coffee is giving it that chili pepper flavor. The honey and cocoa nibs are completely absent. It is a decently spiced Golden Stout but it is missing a lot of the flavor components, and the flavor components that are present aren't presenting themselves properly. The aroma is also very off. I would only recommend it to those who want to try something different from Hardywood. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it's interesting enough to enjoy.

Pours a semi-cloudy gold with a one-finger head. Sweet note upfront in the nose that reminds me of maple syrup. Flavor starts off with baking spices and ginger and then veers into sugarbomb land. Lots of residual sweetness. If the sweetness factor could be dialed back a bit, this would be better. Cloying. Medium-full bodied.

This is a gimmicky, and totally unnecessary variation on an excellent beer. It doesn't look like a conventional stout; so what? It smells non-descriptively sweet. The taste reminds you of the original GBS, before falling apart at the end. I bought a 32 oz crowler, and poured out the vast majority of it. I'd say to avoid it, but it looks like everyone else on here already has. My mistake.
