Bought a can of this beer at the local grocery store. Poured into a tulip glass. Bright clear yellow color with decent initial head and light lacing. Sweet, spicy smell and taste. Vanilla and ripe pears, a bit of white pepper. Medium feel. Overall not bad.

Poured from can into tulip good 3 finger cream colored head, great retention and excellent lacing. Bright pale golden in the glass, slight chill haze. Good Belgian esters on the nose, Juicy Fruit, coriander and candy sugar. Taste follows the nose, big candy sugar sweetness on the front leading to yeast esters, floral, grassy and a sweet spicy finish. For me the hops are not meshing well with the rest of the beer so it is somewhat disjointed. Granted I love a good Belgian beer, but not too excited about this one.

Look: Light gold, very slight haze. Typical Belgian rocky white long-lasting head.
Smell: Funky, barnyard, saison-like. Great Belgian yeast aroma.
Taste: Similar to the smell, not too sweet and the IBU’s are not very pronounced. Balanced.
Overall: Very good example of the style, at least to my limited experience with Belgian strongs. I’ve had 2 or 3 big name imports and this is comparable.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a one finger head of white colored foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a sweet smell of peaches and apricot as well as some candied sugar. Along with these smells comes a big serving of coriander and clove as well as a little bit of banana. With some light herbal and hay grassy smells, one is left with a sweet and inviting Belgium smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a cracker malt and bready flavor that is backed by moderately sweeter notes of apricot and green grapes. At the same time there are some spice and yeast flavors present with the spice being mainly as depicted in the nose. As the taste advances the sweetness dwindles a little bit all while some herbal and grassy flavors begin to develop. At the same time a touch of booziness and some hay also come to the tongue, leaving one with a moderately crisp bready/crackery Belgium malt taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. A little thinner of a body may have been slightly better overall, but in the end the feel was pretty well done.
Overall – A decent Belgium strong ale. I would have liked a little more sweetness, a little less maltiness and a better hop balance (the hop profile was a bit high and not all that complimenting to the other flavors), but in the end the flavors were pretty good.

pours a clean yellow gold body with an excited chalk-white frothy foam head that has high retention and leaves a patchy curtain of sticky lacing as it settles to a rocky halo.
aroma is mellow bright fruit, sweet malt, grass hops, and a spritzy shade of yeasty effervescence funk
taste follows the nose; lush sweet melon and bright fruit explosion; lightly sweet malt; floral and grassy hop bitterness in the back; peppered thoroughly with yeasty effervescence, with shades dashes of clove and light pepperiness. slight bubblegum in there as well. surprisingly clean tasting
higher carbonation, medium bodied. smooth, somewhat grainy, a little bit of booze prickle adding to the carbo. little chalky occasionally, but with a lush billowiness. clean dry finish. coats the mouth pretty thoroughly.
overall:
this brew is all over the place, but this sets it apart in a good way for me personally. it is bright, lush, chalky, fruity, yeasty, grainy yet smooth. this is a great nod to a style I love dearly, but clearly not a Belgian traditionalist - not that it's trying to be. it's using the style as a springboard more like, really. I love the lush turn on the style, the
