Dedicated to RI Radio’s mid-day rock goddess: Jenn. This sweet stout conjures chocolate and coffee tones, and is stone cold delicious. Roasted malt and moderate hop flavor lurks in a tall glass of this black magic woman. It’s a beautiful portion with a taste that slays. Let’s rock.

Poured from a pint can, formed a 1” head, was a very dark brown color and had subtle chocolate and coffee aromas. Taste was mocha but far too thin/watery for a stout. Unfortunately I would not purchase again.

So this beer feels like a porter to me, and while I have no problem with porters I don't want my stout to taste or feel like one. It's too bitter to be called a stout. If I've been drinking beers all afternoon and I order a stout that tastes like a porter I'm not happy.

Good head production and decent retention; little lacing.
Very traditional roasty aroma, with coffee, chocolate, char, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, and red grapes.
Fairly bitter and well balanced on the palate. Really a delight for a moderate-ABV stout, with tones of bitter Baker's chocolate, black coffee, vanilla, earthy and grassy hops, and mild char.
Lively and a touch fizzy on the palate, but about proper for a 5.5% ABV stout.

From the pint can, it pours a dark brown/black with a light brown head. Coffee and roasted malts in the nose. Roasted malts and coffee in the mouth. Nice!
