A unique beer, Sawdust City Hygge is a "sour Belgian tripel with black plums." It has the sweet complexity of a tripel balanced with the tartness of not quite ripe plums. It has a a light toffee sweetness upfront followed by a strong stone fruit sourness, finishing dry, with slight yeasty spiciness. It has low carbonation, little head, medium mouth feel and a difficult to place aroma. Overall I would highly recommend this beer because it manages to be unlike any other beer I've had with sacrificing taste.

Hygge caught me off guard. It looks good from the get go, pouring a nice clear golden color with a minimal head. The aroma was reminiscent of a tripel to me with a touch of sour also present. As I said this was unexpected to me. The taste was fruity with stone fruits dominating and the plum being the dominant fruit. Also quite noticeable were the elements of the tripel, candi, spices and a touch of yeast. The feel was okay, with a decent, if not perhaps lower amount of carbonation and a medium body.
Is it a fruit beer? Is it a tripel? Is it a sour? I couldn't say, but I liked it.
