Pours caramel coloured with a thick creamy, long lasting head. Sweet and bready on the nose. The taste is malts up front, with toffee, molasses and butterscotch in the background. Smooth and full bodied

Appearance: Laced while the thumb of head lasted. The body is a orange amber transparent colors with thin low carbonation.
Smell: Caramel malt, berry yeast and a slight note of honey and floral notes. Warming brings out the floral notes out a bit more but it achieved good potency upon pour.
Taste: Starts with caramel malt, somehow balanced with earth and a touch of yeast, which makes it's berry like presences know as raspberry comes forward as dominant and ending with a slight floral note. What I find especially cool is as the beer warms up, the bitter note and the yeast seem to slowly change spots but it never tastes off.
Mouthfeel: Aftertaste is nicely mixed with berry and bitter earth being dominant, but not drowning out the other flavors. Transitioning is truly exceptional but the carbonation only really seems to show a presence at the start of the beer.
Drinkability: Light body that settles down incredibly well. Refreshing but still the kind of perfect session ale that would want you to quaff a few at once.
Final Thoughts: This is a beer for all seasons, save the most bitter of cold, and is a grand rival to my beloved Arkell Best Bitter. I truly do hope they brew this version of Flapdoodle again.
