473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 10 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy pale straw-yellow colour with visible flecks of sediment; situated atop is about an inch of foamy, creamy white head that melts off within three or four minutes' time. Great lace deposition, with a dense collar and soapy cap remaining in place afterwards. The aroma is clean but relatively bland for the style: I'm mostly getting grainy malts and wheat husks, with hints of citrus peel, bubblegum and yeast spiciness.
A mellow witbier; its citrus elements are far off in the background, vs. being a highlight of the experience. It tastes of appleskin, wheat bread, grainy pale malts and grain husks, with hints of banana and clove by mid-sip; a little spicier on the back end as the coriander and yeast assert themselves. Hints of lemon & orange peel precede a wheaty, spicy finish that gives way to a yeasty aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains potent throughout the session; feels crisp, but also smooth and a little fluffy. Quite easy to toss back.
Final Grade: 3.72, a B grade. White Tulip's elegant label may have inflated my expectations, but in the end I found it to be a fairly average witbier. The flavours are decent, and the coriander spiciness is nice enough, but the citrus peel is lacking and there's just not a lot of depth here. Not one of Sawdust City's stronger releases - I mean, it's alright, but there are several other Ontario witbiers I'd reach for before revisiting this.

can from LCBO - pours a cloudy light yellow with a 2 finger white cap....I won't get into descriptions because by now I figure you all have tired Hoegaarden wit...suffice to say that this offering is on the money for style but is really decently smooth and mellow for a wit....a really great summer sessioner for the patio

473 ml can served cold into a snifter. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Canned January 27, 2023.
Appearance - Semi hazy pale straw color with three plus fingers of foamy white head. Good retention and some visible effervescence.
Smell - Really muted nose, very slight coriander notes and just a hint of citrus. Nothing unplesant, just very very muted.
Taste - Quite watery initially with a little coriander and orange zest kick. Quite pepper at the back end. A little muted for a witbier, but not as much so as the nose.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light body with expressive carbonation and slightly spicy finish.
Overall - Good enough witbier, think this might seem better in the summer. Worth a tipple but not one of Sawdust's best.
